My Favourite Body Moisturiser
Since moving to Melbourne, there has been one skincare product that I have consistently reached for every single day without fail, and that is a body moisturiser.
Before I moved to Melbourne, I didn't find a real need for a body moisturiser in my routine – maybe this was due to my age, or the fact that Adelaide's winters are much tamer than Melbourne's, I never used one. But moving to Melbourne, I found that my skin, especially on my hands, became cracked and my eczema began to flare up a lot more often – this is also due to becoming reliant on heaters much, much more throughout the cooler months. Nowadays, keeping my body moisturised has become just as important as the skincare routine for my face.
When looking for a body moisturiser, I generally opt for one suited to sensitive skin; a fragrance-free, gentle formula from the chemist – something that will do the job well enough and won't trigger any sensitivity. But the problem with these basic formulations, and having really dry and sensitive skin, is that I would always have to mix them with an oil, such as jojoba oil, to ensure they were delivering enough hydration to my skin as well as really locking the moisture in.
It wasn't until I tried Bangn Body's Fragrance Free Firming Lotion that I really understood what a good body moisturiser can do.
Last year, Bangn Body launched with their hero product, The Firming Lotion. Packaged in a bright yellow tube, this moisturiser has become a huge success, with its summery pineapple fragrance a key selling point. And even though the fragrance sounded heavenly, I was so relieved to find that Bangn Body also released this in a fragrance-free version for all of those with the most sensitive of skins, just like mine.
The Firming Lotion is rich in antioxidants, essential vitamins and anti-inflammatory properties. It's lightweight with a creamy, rich texture, and leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. I apply it immediately after showering and have found it's both easy to spread and fast-absorbing – it hydrates my skin and relieves any dryness.
Bangn Body products are vegan and cruelty free, Australian-made with local natural ingredients. Their products don't contain any silicones, parabens, sulfates (SLS/SLES), GMOs, mineral oils, PEGs, chemical UV filters petrolatum or synthetic colours.
What can I say? I'm hooked.
