A Full Face Of M.A.C Cosmetics Makeup

[gallery columns="2" link="none" size="full" ids="10768,10753"] Recently I was invited to M.A.C Cosmetics Marion to learn a few of their beauty tips and tricks. Before this, I hadn't used many M.A.C products, aside from their lipsticks (which everyone has tried at some stage) and more recently their brow pencil and brow set. I was keen to see whether they had a foundation shade light enough for my very, very fair skin tone because so many beauty brands don't.To really try out M.A.C's range, I put together a full look using only their products. I went for an everyday look with a full coverage foundation, neutral tones, and a dewy finish. I like my makeup to be natural and simple enough to do in 20 minutes, so I also tried to include some multi-use products where possible.

Base

Prep + Prime Fix+

I've used a few setting sprays before but they've never really stuck in my makeup regime. This one has a nice refreshing smell to it, which I find most setting sprays don't, and isn't sticky.PRO TIP: Spray this 10cm from your face before you apply your base to prime the skin and then again, after your makeup is finished, to set – this keeps your skin from drying out and makes your makeup last longer.

Strobe Cream (Pinklite)

I prefer a dewy look for my foundation, so this one was a no brainer. The strobe cream is a moisturiser with iridescent particles and antioxidants to create a lit from within look, meaning your finished look will be dewy and glowy.PRO TIP: Use this under the Studio Fix Fluid SPF15 foundation to make it easier to blend and achieve an overall dewy look.

Studio Fix Fluid SPF15

If you've been following my blog for a while now, you'll know how difficult I find shopping for foundations and concealers; very few brands actually make a shade light enough for my skin tone. But the girls at M.A.C helped me find my perfect shade: NW10. It gives great coverage, can be made dewy or matte depending on the other products you use (e.g. powder, the strobe cream), and gives a flawless, soft finish.

Cheeks

Pro Longwear Paint Pot (Quite Natural)

I'm all about multi use products – I'm pretty hooked on the RMS Beauty Contour Bronze, which I use as an eyeshadow or contour, but I was looking for something a little more matte and deeper in colour.PRO TIP: Apply this by first warming it up with your fingers – this will make it blend easier. Then dab to the cheek with your ring finger, or alternatively you can use a brush (but I'm a little lazy and don't wash my brushes often enough for that!)

Mineralize Skinfinish (Soft & Gentle)

M.A.C's most popular highlight shade doesn't disappoint. I've been using a Becca highlighter for years and as soon as I tried this I was converted. This highlighter is extremely pigmented and the peach shade 'soft & gentle' is perfectly subtle on my fair skin tone.PRO TIP: Spray the Prep + Prime Fix+ once onto a brush before picking up the Mineralize Skinfinish and applying to the face for a pigmented highlight. [gallery columns="2" link="none" size="full" ids="10778,10787"]

Eyes

Pro Longwear Paint Pot (Quite Natural)

This product also works perfectly as an eyeshadow. Apply this with your ring finger all over the lid for a base colour. Then fix up the edges and blend more with a shadow brush.

Mineralize Skinfinish (Soft & Gentle)

To make your eyes pop, pick up the smallest amount of this product with an eyeshadow brush and apply it to the centre of your lids as well as the inner corners. [gallery link="none" columns="2" size="full" ids="10802,10814"]

Lips

Amplified Lipstick (Blankety)

I've been using M.A.C lipsticks for years and I definitely prefer their creme formulas. I own a fair few of their red ones so I wanted to try something a little more neutral, perfect for everyday. The girls at M.A.C Marion tried this one on me and I just loved it. The shade is just a bit darker than my lips, meaning it defines them but isn't a massive statement (therefore making it easy to maintain throughout the day). This creme formula is a soft pink beige and gives a full coverage.
