As a minimalist, I look for key pieces for my wardrobe that I’ll want to wear time and time again (hence why I love a good t-shirt). The latest addition to my wardrobe is this shirt dress by Harvey The Label. The Adelaide based label has quite a few monochrome pieces that I love, but when I saw this dress – and heard that it has over 15 different ways to wear it – I knew I had to have it.
I chose the Empire Multiway Shirt Dress in a size 8, which is a bit of an oversized fit but it means I can comfortably style it as both a dress or shirt. Being black means that it’s super versatile; it can be styled with just about anything, and it obviously fits into my wardrobe!
I paired this back with denim and sneakers for a relaxed everyday look, perfect for those weekend brunches. For a more dressed-up/at-the-office look, I’ve styled it with a leather jacket and these knitted culottes I just bought on sale from Zara. But this shirt dress also looks great on its own. You can wear it as a strapless dress by folding the collar inwards, turning the dress backwards, buttoning it up and fastening the tie. Or, style the dress as a one shoulder, off the shoulder, collarless, or even just buttoned all the way up. My favourite part about this dress is the tie detail at the waist, perfect for giving shape no matter what way you tie it.
I seriously love the versatility of this dress. Investing in pieces like this means your wardrobe is full of endless possibilities for outfits, without constantly having to buy new things. Having pieces like this also means you can easily change up your look from the office to a night out with the girls, without bringing something to change into (just add lipstick). You can shop Harvey The Label‘s Empire Multiway Shirt Dress here, or visit the girls in store if you want to be professionally styled (which I absolutely recommend!)
