The Lip Gloss You Need

My Latest Mecca Purchases (oops)

It’s not often that I become obsessed enough with a lip product that I get it in two colours, so you know this one’s going to be good. Recently, Urban Decay released their Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss, and it’s quickly become my everyday go-to.

Before I got my hands on these, I kept my Dior Addict Lip Maximizer with me at all times and while I don’t think I’ll ever tire of this, the Urban Decay lip gloss is the perfect alternative when you’re wanting a little more colour on your lips.

The Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss comes in a unique, modern packaging with a silicone paddle applicator, which is very easy to navigate. The formula is long lasting; the colour stains the lips for the whole day, meaning you just have to add a gloss over the top to maintain the shine (most times I use my Dior one for this). It’s also infused with Vitamin E so it won’t dry out the lips, which is a major concern for me when it comes to lip products – it is however a little sticky and I find my hair sometimes gets caught. But probably my favourite part about this gloss is that it has peppermint oil in it, meaning it’s cooling on the lips and has a slightly plumping effect, just like my Dior one that has collagen in it.

The shades I have been obsessed with (so far) are Naked and Backtalk.

This shade is more of a red-pink. It’s quite sheer and one coat defines the lips perfectly. It also has some shimmer to it (which you can probably tell from the close up photos). This is my favourite for an everyday gloss to accentuate your lips.

This purple-pink shade is much more pigmented than NAKED. I like to use this when I’m going out – to work meetings, catching up with friends, etc. It’s still a subtle pop of colour, but a little darker and far more noticeable than NAKED.

Have you tried the Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss? What’s your favourite colour?
