Saying Goodbye to 2020 and Setting Goals for 2021

2021 goals

At the beginning of each year, I like to set some intentions for the year ahead. Nothing dramatic or diet-related, just a few simple, clear goals for me to work towards throughout the year.

I’m starting my 2021 goals blog post by going back and reading the same blog post from 2020. I’m proud to say that I have definitely achieved my first goal of being better with my finances. In 2020, I created a budget, tax schedule and set a

savings goal, which I achieved! However, as for the other goals – focusing on my career and attending more events – COVID definitely got in the way of those.

While 2020 didn’t deliver that many highlights for me, it did teach me to enjoy a slightly slower pace of life and I’m hoping I will be able to make a conscious effort to keep this up throughout the year ahead so that I can maintain a good physical health and headspace.

Setting Goals for 2021

2021 Migoals Diary

01 JOURNAL EVERY DAY

Last year, I had an abundance of time to check in with myself and evaluate my choices and the direction my life is taking. This year, I (hope) I will be far busier with COVID restrictions easing, and therefore I want to implement the daily habit of journaling to ensure I continue to check in with myself.

Action: Buy An Organised Life Journal and spend 15 minutes before bed each night reflecting and evaluating.

02 MAKE MORE TIME FOR MYSELF AND MY HOBBIES

My weekly schedule tends to always be jam-packed and this year I want to start making time for my hobbies – this blog, my Instagram, taking photos – as well as have a social life and a career. It sounds hard, almost impossible, but all it’s down to is good organisation and efficiency. Two things that I am striving to be better at (while trying to silence my perfectionism). Another thing that is very hard to do!

Action: Clock off of work no later than 6pm and divide my time after hours between reading a book, watching TV and creating content for my blog and socials. Most importantly, make certain nights a week a no-work night.

03 EXPAND MY KNOWLEDGE

Whether it be through self-help books, podcasts, or online courses, my twenties are the time where I need to be developing as a person, as well as furthering my skill sets.

Action: Listen to one podcast every morning. Buy a Kindle and make an effort to read more. Finish the online courses that I have started on Udemy.
