Lilah b. is revolutionising the world of beauty with their creamy, multi-use formulas.

It’s not often that I purchase four products from a brand I only just discovered. But when Lilah b. came to Mecca, that’s exactly what I did. For the past couple of months, Melbourne’s colder temperatures have made my skin much drier than usual. I decided it was time to switch from powder products to cream based ones to keep my skin more hydrated. And that’s when I found Lilah b..

The unique stone-shaped design – although excessively heavy and not at all practical for flying, as I have discovered – was what first drew me to the brand, reminding me of Glossier’s You Perfume Solid. Side note: Glossier, please ship to Australia soon. Their revolutionary formulas are made without gluten, parabens, phthalates, sulfates and synthetic fragrances, and are both vegan and cruelty free. Boasting a wide range of multi-use products, Lilah b. is at the forefront of the beauty industry. Their formulas adhere to the latest craze in beauty: combining cosmetics with skincare. Each formula is packed with ingredients that improve the skin’s overall texture, luminosity and hydration levels, whilst still functioning as a traditional beauty product.

I decided to try out a few that stood out to me, and they’ve quickly become my everyday staples.

Lilah b. eye makeup look using Palette Perfection Eye Quad

For as long as I have used makeup, eyeshadow palettes have been something of a weakness for me. Not only do they allow you to get creative with makeup they also have the ability to transform a makeup look – taking it from day to night. Quads in particular are extremely easy to use as each shade has been carefully chosen to complement one another. This one has four neutral toned, long-wearing cream shades that come together to create the perfect smokey eye.

Before applying my eyeshadow, I start with the Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion, which protects my eyelids and prevents my eyeshadow from irritating my skin throughout the day. This palette is formulated with marigold extract and coconut oil, so the shadows are far gentler on the skin than a lot of my other powder based shadows – it also consists of aloe and agar, which delivers that crease free application you want in an eyeshadow. Next, I apply the medium toned shade all over my lids, following with the darker matte shade in the corners of my eyes. For this look, I wanted more of a shimmer, so I applied this shade liberally to the outer corners of my eyes, blending inwards. Finally the lightest shade sits in the inner corners of my eyes.

I’m by no way an expert, but this is my go-to look with this palette – it’s easy and it goes with just about any outfit.

I have a slight obsession with multi-use beauty products, especially on those days when you want your makeup to appear natural and effortless, minus the effort (this has definitely become the norm for me). Highly pigmented with a luxurious matte finish, this lip and cheek duo is both blendable and buildable in colour. I like to get a small amount on my ring finger and warm up the product before lightly dabbing onto the apples of my cheeks, blending outwards. As this formula is highly pigmented, I usually apply the excess to either my lips after a lip balm or to my eyelids if I’m feeling really lazy!

There’s nothing I love more than a lip balm I’ll never go anywhere without one. With a hint of lavender and mint, this formula soothes and relieves any dryness on my lips. It’s also a great base for any lipsticks, lip glosses or of course my Divine Duo Lip & Cheek.

Lilah b. makeup look using Glisten and Glow Skin Illuminator

For years, I’ve been using the M.A.C Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle highlighter, and while it does the job perfectly, I really wanted a cream alternative. This illuminator can be used as a base before foundation for a dewy, glowy finish or as a highlighter all over. Typically, I use it on my brow bones, to contour my nose, lift my cheekbones and on my cupid’s bow. It brings light and dimension to the face and is the perfect match with a dewy foundation to achieve that summer glow.

It’s also formulated with a range of beneficial ingredients. Black currant seed oil extract and sunflower oil concentrate reduces inflammation, carotenoids, plant sterols and essential fatty acids improves the brightness of the skin and brown sea algae improves texture and tone. It’s definitely become a staple in my beauty routine.
