How to: NYFW Style

The street style at a New York Fashion Week is always so different to that of any Australian fashion festival. It’s full of culture, individuality and life. NYFW this year is all about bright colours (when isn’t it) and big fur coats! After rifling through a many street style photos from the week, these pieces will get you the 2016 NYFW look.

The colder climate of NY at this time of year lends itself to layers; which fortunately is always easier to style. I’m talking: stockings, scarves, jumpers and jackets, beanies AND leather gloves (it’s not a one or the other situation). Fringing has made a particular appearance this year, dangling from skirts and tops, but usually peeping out from beneath overcoats. There is an obvious pop of colour to 90% of outfits at NYFW, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from the festival! And of course the usual finishing touch of a designer bag is always a must. However, it’s fur coats that take the cake as the biggest trend at this year’s festival; and what better staple for the chilly weather?
